U.S. War Stories

Are you a veteran?  Do you know a veteran who has experienced a taste of military life that others should know about.  I would like this space to be a gathering of the memoirs, stories, experiences of those unsung heroes.  Branch of service is not a prequalification.  If it is Field Artillery training, the cooks first day in the mess of a destroyer, the first time flying a T-6, or scooting over the hot sands of Iraq, with a radar lock on a Mig, it does not matter.  It is the everyday experience of the Soldier, Sailor, Airman or Marine that makes history come alive.  Please share with us, and the rest of the world your experiences, or those of someone you know.  All sources will be credited as to the story.

To this end, I would like to declare the first meeting of what we shall call the Boring Old Fart Society open and all good members of standing shall come to order.
