Monogram P-51B, in the markings of Maj. Duane W. Beeson, 334 FS, 4th FG,
commander, April 1944. Kit is the Monogram P-51B, Model Master enamels, with
AreoMaster decal. This is a sweet kit,
particularily in the "bangs for the buck" category - good fit and fairly decent
cockpit detail. By Amos Terrell |

 Major
Leonard K "Kit" Carsons P-51D. 357th
FG 362 FS. Kit is the 1/48 Tamiya, finished with a Model Master 50% Aluminum, 50%
Chrome Silver mix.
This kit is a sweet build, near perfect fit - just watch out for extra cement in the
flap joint area - the wing plastic is thin here and it will deform (use CA or white glue instead of
"normal" plastic cement). By Amos Terrell |
 Hase
1/48 P-51D in the markings of Col John C. Meyer, 487th FS, 352 FG. 1/48 Hasegawa P-51D
kit, finish is Model Master 50% Aluminum, 50% Chrome Silver.
Note: anyone who tries this mix - use a siphon type feed to prevent metal particles from clogging a
gravity feed cup when you're about
3/4 done, resulting in splatters (been there, done that - it wasn't
pretty). Apply a very thin gloss coat, decal, apply a very thin gloss sealer coat.
Result is a good, slightly worn NMF look - Not a good as Alclad II, but close. By Amos Terrell
