The 1/48 scale Messerschmitt Bf-108A-D Taifun is one of the newest additions to the Eduard line of models. It is one model that has been awaited for many years. Previous models have been both expensive and in smaller scales. This model enables the builder to use one of two spinner and two rudder designs. Thus the variations of the aircraft used before and during the second world war. There are also two versions of the instrument panel one has several holes and a printed backing or a surface detail and decal.
Upon opening the kit you will find a well laid out model with the addition of a set of painting masks for the cockpit wind screen, etc. An optional set of masks can be purchased later for painting the European camouflage schemes. The kit comes with a full interior and a nicely detailed engine, and decals for two different airplanes
Since the airplane began life as a racing/touring airplane before the war some of the common interior colors are different from the common German military aircraft. Exterior colors can differ extensively as the airplane was sold through out the world before the war, though the racing plane had a three bladed propeller (not encoded in this kit). The airplane was also built by the French company Nord for many years following the war. There are still many versions flying today. During the War as a German liaison airplane, it appeared on all fronts so the various color schemes can be used from Africa (Tan with green dots) to Europe (2-toned green splinter camouflage) , to white coverings of both for winter.
